Here’s my story:

I vividly remember the moment it hit me: in order to fully abide in Christ, I needed to accept suffering alongside Him. I lay sprawled on my bed while my two wee ones napped, bible open before me. Tears slipped down my cheeks as I told Him allowed, “Lord, I don’t want to suffer. Help me be willing to suffer with you.”

After this realization and submission, God opened my eyes and my heart to the many verses in the New Testament that talk about suffering–It felt like they sprung off the page every time I opened my worn leather bible. My spirit softened and started to change molded and shaped by His word. And as only God’s perfect timing could line up, as I soaked in these truths–The suffering came...

Long awaited tulips—
The reward of bulbs sown in darkness and hope

Charlie headed out for the month for NTC last week

Charlie headed out for the month for NTC last week, and Ana arrived the day before to mind the gap. We get her the entire month, I can hardly believe it!

We have been survivvvvvving over here. LOTS of big violent emotions with Daddy leaving and all the transition. I have basically been sick since Ana got here and have had many neuro episodes and startle screams already. 🥹
I think we have done math ONCE this last 10 days. Although praising Jesus we are done with this years math already and just working on next years until our school year officially ends.😅
We have gone through so many paper plates and gluten free bread just to keep life easier where we actually can.

Amidst it all, Ana has been AMAZING. She has been diligent to be up in the morning and start breakfast with the kids. I have had to sleep in (or through) several mornings out of sheer necessity for health. And have been VERY grateful for the ability to do so.
She has stayed on top of her own school work. But I think in every spare moment she has, has been loving on us and serving.
I have asked her to do very little, because she’s mostly already just doing all the things already, including things I wouldn’t have asked her to do. Yesterday for example she is ran laundry down the field for me.
She’s already been sinned against more times than we can count and has been so kind, patient, and forgiving.

We have had so much fun talking when the kids are finally in bed at night, and God has given us many edifying and rich conversations. ❤️ It’s one of the coolest discipleship opportunities I have had in my entire life. Nothing like getting to live out everything say in real time.

Very, VERY grateful for His provision! This month is hard, but by God’s grace it is good!

My mom always said, “Home is where the majority of us lay our heads at night.”

Finally moved out of our house so reconstruction from the flood can begin. What a whirlwind since December. 🤪 So many opportunities to trust Jesus.

Not pictured:
—A landlord threatening to evict us because he’d like the rent the house out for more after renovations and generally doesn’t like us now for reasons he won’t clarify.

—Charlie having something along the lines of pneumonia/bronchitis and in bed incredibly ill this weekend, while I packed our uhaul, moved four rooms in the house, and prepped the rest of the house by myself when not taking care of sick children.

—Selling our Hyundai the Lord provided last year and buying Charlie’s truck we’ve waited for the last two years for. It was of course complicated because of rollover order paperwork. Right in the middle of so much else going on. But it’s now done. And it’s a gift. And the Lord was incredibly gracious that selling the Hyundai was INCREDIBLY easy, and blessed a fellow solider who just moved here needing a car.

—Our two day pack out yesterday took one day because last minute they had extra hands and the company sent eight men over!

—Stuck on the kitchen floor after a seizure, with Charlie gone, amidst movers and small children. Brought on by a gleeful trumpet blast from a small boy, through a funnel as we packed.

—Three cumulative precious hours of help, a grocery pickup, and four meals. So grateful for every SCRAP of God’s provision when I thought we couldn’t go on.

I don’t always know why He allows us to walk through one hard season after another. But I DO know He is working through it, and He is in our midst suffering alongside us. He is enough. I preach this to myself over and over again.

I have been clinging to these three truths the last week:

He SEES me. —Genesis 16:13
He CARES for me. —1 Peter 5:6-7
He is FOR me. —Romans 8:31

Easter: The day of restful reprieve in celebration of our risen King!

Sandwiched between:
Five days of laying in bed to recover from the neurological stress of traveling and wedding events (which were 100% worth it!), including leaving TSA in a wheelchair after repeated beeping of a metal detector (when I got randomly selected for further inspection) left me crumpled on the ground from a seizure and frozen.

And our fourth round of the stomach bug in 8 weeks. 🥹

Grateful He will provide further reprieve as needed. In the mean time, we press on in His grace.

God’s provision in late February: Morgan flew ou

God’s provision in late February: Morgan flew out and spent the week with us while Charlie was in the field, and I had regular neuro episodes.

I told her: “I knew having you would be helpful, I didn’t know how much I was going to NEED you.”
The Lord knew, and so graciously provided. Thank you, Morgan. Thank you, Jesus!

Clinging to these past recent provisions and we prepare for the next hurdle/ Moving out of our entire house next week (minus the garage) and relocating so they can finally fix the water damage. Then a week later Charlie leaves for NTC for a month. The Lord is already going ahead of us, in some incredible ways we can see, and in many ways He has yet to reveal. And so we wait, in bold expectation.
